Interim Principal

Hello, Monmouth Junction Families…

It is my pleasure to serve as your principal in the 2022-2023 school year. As some of you are probably aware, I have a long relationship with the South Brunswick School District, and I could not be more excited to return to SB and work with the Monmouth Junction School community.

I am a proud graduate of South Brunswick High School and attribute much of my success as an educator and leader to the fine education I received from this school district. After graduating from SBHS, I pursued my undergraduate degree from Rutgers College where I majored in history and earned my teaching credential. This included my student teaching internship at Crossroads School (currently Crossroads North). I was very fortunate to begin my teaching career at Crossroads, a school that was committed to developing its teachers and providing its faculty with rich professional development opportunities.

While teaching at Crossroads, I earned my master’s degree in educational administration from Columbia University-Teachers College. I taught both social studies and English at Crossroads and did so for eighteen years. Over these years, I had many opportunities in the school district to pursue my interest in leadership, opportunities that paved the way for my career in school administration.

My very first formal leadership role was that of principal of Constable School from 1993-2002. After spending nearly ten years as principal of Constable, I learned that a new elementary school was slated to open in 2002, and I asked the superintendent at the time if I could have the opportunity to lead this new educational community. It was quite the honor to open Brooks Crossing School in 2002, and I served as principal of this school through March of 2009.

In 2007, our family relocated to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and in 2009, I was offered the opportunity to serve as principal of Stony Creek Elementary School (Wissahickon School District) in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. After serving in this capacity for nearly seven years, I was appointed Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the Wissahickon School District, a position that I assumed in July of 2015 and served in until February of 2001 when I retired from the district.

During my tenure as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools, I earned my doctorate degree from University of Pennsylvania. My studies and research focused on the novice principal, the many challenges and supports that matter in the development of effective school leaders.

I have enjoyed a rich and rewarding career in the field of education, and it all started right here in South Brunswick. Again, it is my pleasure to return to SBSD and lead Monmouth Junction School as the district searches for the school’s next principal.
