Dear Monmouth Junction Students and Parents,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to the 2024-2025 school year here at Monmouth Junction School. Hopefully, you enjoyed your summer vacation, found time to relax and enjoy some fun activities, and kept reading!!! As summer is winding down for you, there is already quite a buzz in the hallways and classrooms of MJ as teachers and staff are getting ready to welcome you on Thursday, September 5, the first day of the school year.
How are you getting ready for the first day of school? Here are some suggestions that I have to share with you…
● Make sure you purchase your school supplies.
● Read a few good books.
● Get back into the routine of getting a good night’s rest.
● Start your day with a healthy breakfast.
We have the best school community here at MJ - students, parents, faculty, and staff - and we can accomplish great things together. Our teachers are planning some great programs for all of you, and I know that you are going to stretch those brains this school year and have fun doing it.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing you on September 3rd from 3:30-5:00 at our Sneak-A-Peek, and of course, on Thursday, September 5, the first day of school. Read on for some additional important information and key dates.
Be well.
Michael Scheese
Principal
Important Updates
● Families with students in grades PreK-5 will be able to view homeroom assignments on August 26th once the required forms have been completed on Genesis.
● Sneak-a-Peek is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3 from 3:30-5:00 PM. All families are invited to stop by the school to assist their children in locating their classrooms. This often helps to reduce the first-day jitters for many of our students. Teachers may or may not be present when you stop by, but you will have a chance to peek into the classroom through the door and locate other spaces here at MJ (gymnasium, cafeteria, library, art room, music room, playground).
● MJ’s PTO Ice Cream Social - Mark your calendars for Friday, September 13, from 6:30-7:45 PM. This will take place in the back of the school. We hope to see you there.
● Your child’s teacher will soon contact you with more information about the upcoming school year, including other class-specific information. Be on the lookout for that communication.
● Save the Date for Back to School Night - Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 6:00 - 7:30 This is an evening program for parents only. Students/children should not attend. Please plan childcare for at least one parent to attend. Stay tuned for more information.
